Contact Hawaiʻi’s delegation

To [congress-critters title] Hawaiʻi’s senators and representatives should refuse to support Chuck Schumer or Hakeem Jeffries for congressional leadership. I expect my elected officials to say so publicly. Both have failed to meet the urgency of resisting Trump. We have heard the warnings about authoritarianism. We have been asked to donate, volunteer, and vote as though democracy depends on it. We deserve leaders who act with that urgency, using every power available to confront this administration. Their failures to support candidates this election cycle deserve accountability. Candidates willing to fight for working people should be able to count on their party’s leadership, and instead, protecting the party establishment continues to take precedence over building the progressive movement voters have mandated. We need bold progressive leaders committed to universal health care, affordable housing, strong unions, taxing the wealthy, and confronting corporate power. We the voters demand leadership willing to fight for these principles. Schumer and Jeffries are not it. Our senators and representatives answer to us. A vote to retain these leaders would tell constituents that loyalty to Washington insiders matters more than our demand for change. I want Hawaiʻi’s delegation to demand new leadership and help elect it, and am asking that Hawaiʻi’s Federally elected leadership follow suit. Yours, [Your name here]
